ROKA – the award-winning concept by Azumi Restaurants is all set to stir up Bahrain’s culinary scene steeped in rich history and global influences.
Primed to entice food lovers with acclaimed signature Robatayaki dishes, ROKA is perched on the eighth-floor rooftop of Pearl House in Bahrain Bay, Manama. The venue boasts a spacious outdoor terrace offering expansive ocean views, a captivating sunset setting, and stunning city-scapes.
This new addition to ROKA’s two-decade-old chain is dressed in signature style. Here the interiors are conceived in traditional Japanese details albeit with a modern twist. This well- curated ambience hints at the cuisine one may expect – a blend of authentic Japanese dishes served with contemporary flair.

Into lighting, specified various fixtures for different areas within the restaurant. For instance, in the Grill area with dining, a mix of linear lights, spotlights, and track lights are used; The Bar (with the back of house) features linear lighting and spotlights, while the Bar lounge is done up with linear, spot, and track lights. The Smoker’s terrace is lit with linear lights, spikelights, and festoon lights and the outdoor dining areas reflect a warm glow achieved by spikelights and festoon lights.
Sourced from an array of premier lighting brands, Uplights, Spotlights, Compact Spotlights, Miniature downlights, and Linear Downlights came from manufacturers such as Lightgraphix and Lucent; Neon FLex lights wore the LEDFlex label and Unibox was the goto brand for the Lightpanel Flux lights which were used in the Instagram Corridor.
“The floor light boxes were customized to fit the required dimension of the application such as Instagram Corridor (floor) and the bar shelving,” explains Mr. Patel. The entire project from start to finish took about 10 weeks. It’s been a few weeks since opening and ROKA is witnessing food connoisseurs beelining to its doors to book a table in its warm and cozy environs!
