Shaping Luxury Through Light at Nammos Dubai

Looking back at Nammos Dubai, what stood out most was how alive the space feels throughout the day. It moves from calm, open daytime moments into a much more vibrant evening setting, and the lighting had to keep up with that shift without drawing attention to itself.

It was really about staying flexible and letting the atmosphere lead, while keeping everything feeling consistent and refined in the background.

Shaping Luxury Through Light at Nammos Dubai

Client: Nammos

Main Contractor: Finasi

Lighting Designer: Archtube

Lighting Partners: AromasFilix LightingFlosLutron, OneEightOne, and Traxon

Set along the vibrant shoreline of Dubai, Nammos is a destination where music, cuisine, and atmosphere come together to create a seamless coastal experience defined by energy and elegance. By day, it reflects the effortless charm of a beachside retreat; by night, it transforms into a space alive with movement, color, and mood. Within this duality, Creation was entrusted with a precise yet nuanced role—to deliver and integrate lighting systems that support the changing atmosphere of the space throughout the day.

Architectural illumination at Nammos Dubai

Our scope focused on the supply, testing, and commissioning of both lighting fixtures and a fully integrated control system. Working alongside an exceptional team, including Finasi and lighting designers Archtube, the objective was not simply to illuminate, but to enable a space that could evolve—visually and emotionally—throughout the day. Lighting and control were treated as one continuous system, each reinforcing the other to deliver a cohesive experience.

At the heart of this orchestration lies a layered control strategy. Lutron systems manage the architectural and decorative lighting, ensuring precision across the venue’s core ambiance, while Traxon e:cue drives the dynamic DMX elements—introducing movement, color, and rhythm into the space. The integration between these systems, though technically demanding, allows for a seamless dialogue between static elegance and dynamic expression.

This interplay becomes most evident in the ceiling architecture, where flexible LED strips trace sweeping curves with effortless continuity. Their pixel-controllable nature allows light to move with intent—shifting tones, building atmosphere, and responding to the changing energy of the venue. What begins as subtle illumination during early hours gradually transitions into a more vibrant, immersive environment as the evening unfolds.

Across the space, each lighting element has been carefully considered. Traxon fixtures define the cove lighting and wash the lobby and reception walls with a soft, even glow. Joinery lighting from OneEightyOne adds precision and detail to the bar and glass features, enhancing materiality without overwhelming it. Filix uplights bring vertical elements to life, accentuating columns at the entrance and within the interiors, while Flos and Aromas fixtures provide the essential layers of general and ambient lighting—quietly supporting the overall composition.

Moments of visual intrigue emerge throughout. A standout feature lies in a glass installation with delicate golden engravings; when illuminated, it reveals depth and texture that might otherwise go unnoticed. These are the details where lighting moves beyond function—where it begins to reveal the character of the space itself.

“Our work at Nammos was about finding the right balance,” reflects Mr. Dharmendra Patel, Managing Director of Creation Gulf. “The design already had a strong identity, and our role was to support that with lighting that could adapt—subtle when it needs to be, and expressive when the space comes alive.”

In a venue where atmosphere is everything, lighting becomes more than a layer—it becomes a medium of transition. At Nammos Dubai, Creation has helped craft a system where light responds intuitively to the rhythm of the space, allowing every moment—whether relaxed or electric—to unfold exactly as intended.

Invisible Efficiency!

Using daylight-responsive controls and occupancy-based dimming ensures light is used only when needed. this approach not only reduces energy consumption in line with LEED and Estidama targets but also supports occupant wellbeing as encouraged by WELL.
