A well thought out lighting design will aid in giving life to a hotel’s interior and exterior features. It has to enhance the luxurious ambience of the hotel and incorporate the latest technology for the delight of guests and the smooth functioning of various services. Creation has worked on several 5-star hotel projects thereby highlighting our competency in matching up to their stringent requirements.

Address Grand Creek Harbour is the latest in our portfolio of Lighting Control Systems for 5 star hotel projects. Apart from being the first 5 star hotel in Dubai Creek harbour, it offers spectacular views of old Dubai on one side and the majestic skyline of new Dubai on the other.

Address Grand Creek Harbour by Emaar Hospitality Group is the first five star hotel in the Dubai Creek Harbour. It is spread across two towers of 53 and 65 floors each and houses 223 rooms and suites, as well as 794 serviced apartments. An observation bridge connects the towers.

The property is located a short drive away from the Dubai International Airport and is directly connected to a waterfront promenade which has a range of entertainment, retail, restaurants, and other attractions.

Creation was tasked with the supply, testing and commissioning of Lighting Control System for public areas, corridors, landscapes, façade, and parking. The design intent and the control concept varied according to the location.

Control System by Helvar was implemented in the Meeting Rooms, Multipurpose Rooms, Board Rooms, Prayer Rooms, Dining Area, Kids Play Area, Fitness Centre, Reception, Treatment Rooms, Changing Rooms, Landscape and Façade areas.

The complete control system is networked and integrated with each other. Additionally, the system is integrated with other building services such as Fire Alarms and Building Management System. Additionally, a customized GUI was developed for the project for the Operation and Monitoring of the system.

According to Mr. Dharmendra Patel, MD, Creation Gulf, “The concept for the façade was particularly interesting since there is a gradient from warm white to blue along the length of the building. All surrounding buildings have identical warm white façade lighting and this gradient helps the project stand out.”

He added, “The facade required specialised architectural DMX control. It is lit by means of multiple linear lights going across vertically. The intent is to have a smooth gradient across the length. In order to achieve this, a high level of control and a specialized system are required. Based on our years of experience, product suitability and compatibility, Pharos Architectural DMX control was deployed for the project.“

Lighting tips for hotel’s public areas

Start with a lighting and ceiling plan imagining the atmosphere you want and specifying the number and types of lights required. Secondly, all lighting fixtures should be fully functional at all times. High quality LED lights are the go to choice for cost control and functionality. Make use of accent lighting to give an individual touch to your hotel. Ensure that all spaces receive sufficient lighting to provide orientation and direction to the guests. Maximize ambient lighting with glass windows, glass ceilings etc.
