More recently, we have just put the finishing touches to Mercedes Benz Cars Middle East’s newest Brand Centre in Design District Dubai. The new Mercedes Benz Cars Middle East Brand Centre, nestled in the heart of Dubai Design District (D3), stands out as a global beacon, poised to reset industry standards and reshape the future of the luxury retail experience.
Recognizing the pivotal role lighting plays in shaping the perception of automotive magnificence, Mercedes Benz sought to craft a showroom experience that redefines the boundaries of luxury automotive retail, seamlessly blending craftsmanship and unmatched experiences.
The dramatic allure of a luxury vehicle is not only its engineering prowess but also its visual appeal. Lighting, in this context, takes centre stage as it highlights intricate curves, gleaming trims, and sparkling hubcaps- inviting customers to embark on a journey of exploration, experience, and acquisition.

To orchestrate this scintillating effect, the quantity, quality, and colour of light has to be carefully measured and monitored using modern control systems installed by experts.
Creation Gulf’s expertise in this arena is well-entrenched. Its portfolio of Lighting control systems is tried and tested and matches the high bar of efficiency, sturdiness and sustainability set by Mercedes Benz’ showrooms in the region. Based on our previous collaboration, Creation was the obvious choice for Mercedes Benz showrooms in the Middle East as well and has supplied, installed, and commissioned lighting control systems, in over a dozen outlets across the Gulf, and beyond.
“We were retained for the Design District showroom as we have previously worked with this team of designers and contractors. Besides, as Diamond Distributors for Lutron, the preferred Light Control System brand, we were the obvious choice,” reveals Mr. Dharmendra Patel, MD, Creation.
The client’s requirement was a comprehensive control system solution which called for various protocols such as DMX, DALI, and Phase dimming. Additionally, each area of the showroom was designed around a different concept. The requirement was to propose a system that is capable of achieving all these requirements.

For instance, the Brand Center houses a section of the unique line of Maybach cars, at “The Maybach Lounge” Adjacent to this is a dedicated space showcasing high-performance Mercedes-AMG models. Forming a unique backdrop at the Brand Center is “The Car Wall”, a stacker system that serves as a 76-car display, offering an extraordinary spectacle of automotive artistry and excellence.
Experience at the Brand Center goes even further, it also houses the region’s first unrivalled off-road driving adventure, on a simulator where one can experience the thrilling essence of Mercedes Benz’s engineering. The Brand Center is also designed to foster creativity and at its core, is a “Town Square” which hosts a variety of activities including exhibitions, seminars, entertainment, and the arts.

Designing a lighting controls solution for a large showroom divided into several multi-use zones called for a multi-pronged approach. For instance, ‘the Unbox Your Star area;’ required dynamic RGBW lights, whereas The Town-Square zone needed flexible DALI control and Sensor-based control was the best option for the office and Car Showroom areas. “We had to select suitable products for lighting controls and integrate them into a seamless package. We used Lutron and e-cue’s Sympholight Light Control Systems(LCS) to provide a total solution.
The LCS was further integrated into the AV system to enable control through a single App.“With Lutron, it is easy to create a variety of dynamic spaces. The brand is renowned as an end-to-end provider of human-centric lighting solutions, including personalized control, automated shades, high-performance dimming, and color and white tuning. Over time, it has proven its efficacy and is now specified in every Mercedes Benz outlet. You could say Lutron is like the Mercedes Benz of lighting control,” concludes Mr. Patel.
